Hi, Iām Shabazz, a member of the UKCP, and an advance trainee psychotherapist in transactional analysis, through an intersectional and inclusive lens.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on different modalities and schools of thought, allowing the flexibility to move with the ebb and flow of my clients individual experiences. My work has allowed me exposure to educational, charity, and government settings, providing individual and group behavioural psycho-educational presentations and workshops.
I work with a large range of social and emotional issues experienced by people of colour, with a particular interest in the power and oppression experienced in their lives. I am drawn to how the social, political, historical and cultural experiences have impacted clients.
My clinical experience comes from provision of counselling and therapy in placements and also to private clients.
I offer a centred and accepting space for clients to explore the issues that they bring, without judgement, or fear of shaming, where they can be held and experience new and healing ways to find balance, calm, and a deeper connection and understanding of self and experience.
My commitment to continued professional development is important for me, as it allows a wider and more flexible range of responses to the shifting circumstances that clients may face in their lives, and the ability to hold and offer clarity and grounding to find a place to address those circumstances.
